BOOK GIVEAWAY: REVELATION: THE STORY OF MUHAMMAD

Quran is the 4th and last book of Almighty ALLAH, the holy book revealed to Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) from ALLAH through Hazrat Jibrael (AS). The revelation of this Holy book took approximately 23 years, beginning on 22 December 609 CE. It is believed that Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) was 40 years old when the first ayats were revealed to him. The revelation of the Holy Quran was started in the holy month of Ramadan. Holy Quran was sent to Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) in the form of Wahi. What is the Divine message which is sent to the prophets? The Ways were sent to Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) during different times. Sometimes when Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) was asleep, sometimes when he was awake and sometimes sent through Hazrat Jibrael (AS). But the Holy Quran was not sent the in the way how it is today. It was a long process when different Ayats were sent at different situations or different times.

HOW REVELATION STARTED:

Once Hazrat Muhammad (SAW)was at the cave of Hira. He used to spend most of his time in the cave Hira during the days of Ramadan. Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) spent his Ramadan days for the last three years in Hira Cave. During his third year on 21st Ramadan, it was the time of Tahaj’jud he was alone at the cave when he saw an angel in a man’s disguise. The angel asked him to recite; the Prophet replied to him that he cannot recite. The angel held him tight until the Prophet could not bear it any longer. The angel asked him a second time to recite. The Holy Prophet (SAW) replied the same that he could not recite. The angel did the same thing for a second time and asked Prophet (SAW) again to recite, and the answer of Prophet (SAW) was still the same that he could not recite.

The angel released him and said the following:

“Read in the name of your Lord, the Creator. He Who created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Bounteous. Who taught by the Pen, taught man what he knew not.” [96:1-5]

These were the first verses of the Holy Quran, which was revealed to him by Hazrat Jibrael (AS). When Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) recited after the angel, he left. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was so scared of the situation that he thought he was possessed.

The night when Quran was first revealed to the Holy Prophet (SAW) is called the ‘Night of Power.’

The Holy Prophet (SAW) then left the cave as he was halfway, he heard the voice of that angel again, and no matter how much Hazrat Muhammad looked away, the angel was there. Finally, the angel went away.

The Holy Prophet was so scared of all that happened he returned home to Hazrat Khadija (RA) and asked her to cover him. Hazrat Khadija covered him and calmed him down. Hazrat Khadija (RA) told him that nothing would happen to him and ALLAH would protect him as he is a very kind and righteous person.

Hazrat Khadija (RA ) took Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) to her cousin Warqah Bin Naufil. Sarah confirmed the prophethood of the Prophet, and he also mentioned that he the Prophet is visited by the same angel, to whom the previous prophets also met. He also warned Prophet (SAW) that he would have to leave his city one day because the people in his town would start disliking him. After all, he will spread Islam among them.

A few days after Warqah Bin Naufil died, Hazrat Muhammad was not getting any Wahis nor Hazrat Jibrael to come to him. Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) was worried, but he continued his praying routine. When he was returning from the Cave of Hira, he again saw the angel, who told him that you are the last Prophet of ALLAH. Hazrat Muhammad was so scared he went back home; there, Hazrat Khadijah (RA) covered him with a blanket. After he calmed, ALLAH (SWT) told him to tell people about ALLAH’s orders. At that time, five verses of Surah Mudassir were sent to him.

After that Holy Prophet (SAW) started to spread Islam and told the people about the commands of Allah and started people teaching about Quran and Islam, the ayats of the Quran were not revealed together at the same time. Some were revealed in Makkah, and some were revealed in Madinah after the migration of the Holy Prophet (SAW)
